Privacy Policy

Introduction

At Greenspring Advisors, LLC (“Greenspring Advisors” or “we”), we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal and business information entrusted to us. This Privacy Notice (“Notice”) explains how we collect, use, and share information in connection with our wealth management, retirement plan advisory services, business-to-business (B2B) relationships, and website visitors.

This Notice is designed to supplement our obligations under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) rules. Clients will also receive a GLBA Privacy Notice describing how we safeguard non-public personal information (NPI).

It is the policy of Greenspring Advisors to restrict access to and/or the sharing of all current and former clients’ information (i.e., information and records pertaining to personal background [including social security number and address], investment objectives, financial situation, financial planning issues, tax information/returns, investment holdings, account numbers, account balances, etc.) to those employees and affiliated/non-affiliated entities who need to know that information in furtherance of the client’s engagement of Greenspring Advisors.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Client & Participant Data: Names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, Social Security numbers, account balances, retirement plan participation details, and related financial information. We may use your phone number or email address to send informational or service-related messages.
  • Business Contact Information: Company name, job title, professional email address, and phone number.
  • Lead and Prospect Data: If you engage with us as a prospective client, we may enrich your business contact information using responsible data sources (e.g., professional data services, retirement plan databases, or intent-based business tools). This information may also be used for targeted marketing and outreach, including cross-context behavioral advertising where permitted by law.

You may opt out of the sharing of non-public personal information at any time by contacting us at privacy@greenspringadvisors.com or using the “Do Not Share My Personal Information” option, where available.

  • Device & Website Data: Browser and device type, IP address, and data collected via cookies or similar technologies.
  • Website Interactions: Information submitted through web forms, portals, hotlines, or financial wellness tools.
  • Transaction & Service Data: Service history, communications, and support records.
  • Text Messaging: We may use your phone number to send informational or service-related text messages.
    • No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. You may unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP.

California residents may have the right to access, delete, correct, or opt out of certain processing of non-public personal information, as described in the “Your Rights” section below.

How We Collect Data

Greenspring Advisors collects information about clients from the following sources, but is not limited to the following sources, in connection with providing services: (1) non-public personal information received from clients, whether in person, in writing, by telephone or otherwise, (2) non-public personal information from transactions, (3) websites, educational platforms and portals, and (4) personal information from third-parties such as accountants, legal counsel, financial advisors, insurance agents, banking institutions, and brokerage firms.

Use of Data

The non-public personal information is used for, but not limited to, the following purposes: (1) monitor, audit, evaluate and otherwise administer Greenspring Advisors services, (2) provide clients with access to protected areas of Greenspring Advisors’ website, (3) provide continuous service to clients and to conduct business processing functions including by providing personal information to our contractors, service providers, or other third parties, (4) assist with the administrative, planning, or services development, quality control or research purposes of Greenspring Advisors and its contractors and service providers, (5) communicate with clients, respond to inquiries, and develop client resources and engagement activities,  (6) detect, prevent, and protect against fraud, copyright infringement, unauthorized use or distribution of protected content, and other unlawful activities, claims, and liabilities, (7) conduct investigations and comply with and enforce applicable legal requirements, industry standards, contractual obligations and internal policies and terms, or (8) for other purposes required or authorized by law, including purposes for which clients have provided consent.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell non-public personal information. We may disclose, as necessary, the client’s information: (1) to unaffiliated service providers and vendors in furtherance of establishing, maintaining, and reporting on the client’s Greenspring Advisor’s relationship (i.e., broker-dealer, account custodian, record keeper, technology, performance reporting, customer relationship management software [CRM], proxy voting, insurance, independent managers, sub-advisers, etc.); (2) required to do so by judicial or regulatory process; or (3) otherwise permitted to do so in accordance with applicable federal and/or state privacy regulations.

While most of the non-public personal information we handle is subject to financial privacy requirements, we also comply with applicable state consumer privacy laws for website visitors, prospects, and business contacts.

Your Rights

To the extent that U.S. federal laws apply to a client’s personal information, clients have the right to limit: (1) the sharing of information about their creditworthiness for affiliates’ everyday business purposes; (2) the use of their non-public personal information by affiliates for marketing purposes; and (3) the sharing of their non-public personal information with nonaffiliates for marketing purposes. U.S. state laws and individual companies may provide additional rights to limit the sharing of personal information. To the extent permitted by applicable law in the relevant jurisdiction, clients may also request: (1) correction of their non-public personal information if it is inaccurate or incomplete; (2) to opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time; and (3) to file a complaint with an applicable government authority, such as a Data Protection Authority.

Greenspring Advisors does not sell non-public personal information. You can exercise your right to opt out of the sharing of non-public personal information (including cross-context behavioral advertising) through the ‘Your Privacy Choices’ link on our website. Where required by law, we honor browser-based opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).

To exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy@greenspringadvisors.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. If an exemption applies to your request, we will let you know.

International Data Transfers

Some clients or participants may reside outside the United States or access services while travelling abroad. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from those of the country where clients initially provided their information. Where required by applicable law, we will protect clients’ non-public personal information in accordance with this Privacy Notice and applicable privacy laws.

Sensitive Personal Information

We may process limited Sensitive Personal Information when necessary to provide our financial and retirement advisory services. This may include Social Security numbers and financial account information required to administer accounts. Business contact information used in a professional context (such as first name, last name, and work email) is not considered Sensitive Personal Information.

We do not use Sensitive Personal Information for marketing, cross-context behavioral advertising, or to infer characteristics about individuals. Because we use Sensitive Personal Information solely for CPRA-permitted business purposes (such as servicing accounts, security, and compliance), the CPRA right to request that we limit its use does not apply.

Protecting Personal Data

We maintain technical, physical, and organizational measures designed to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of your non-public personal information. These measures include encryption tools and access controls. The security of your information depends in part on the security of the device you use to access the website, the safeguards you employ to protect your user ID and password, and the security practices of your internet service provider. Greenspring Advisors is not responsible for the security practices of your internet service provider, and you should review its privacy and security policies carefully. Information accessed through the website may be stored on your device during your session. If others have access to your device or login credentials, they may be able to access such information. Greenspring Advisors is not responsible for the security or privacy of information transmitted to or from your device. You should maintain all correspondence related to the website or the services in a confidential and secure manner.

Retention of Your Personal Data

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide services, support business operations, and comply with legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping requirements (including SEC and FINRA retention rules, which generally require records to be maintained for 5-6 years, depending on the record type). After the required retention period has passed, we may destroy records in accordance with our policies.

Data Processing Agreements

We work with third-party service providers who support our services. For example, financial planning platforms, secure data hosting, payroll and benefits systems, recordkeepers, and custodians. When these companies handle personal information for us, they are required to:

• Use the information only to provide services to Greenspring Advisors
• Protect the information with appropriate safeguards
• Follow all applicable privacy and regulatory requirements

We share personal information only with service providers and custodians that are necessary to deliver our services or meet legal obligations. We do not sell non-public personal information.

Compliance with Privacy Regulations

We comply with the privacy laws and regulations that apply to our business and services. This includes:

  • S. Federal Financial Laws: such as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), as well as Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) requirements for safeguarding non-public personal information.
  • State Privacy Laws: including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and other U.S. state privacy laws that grant residents specific rights related to their personal information.
  • Other Jurisdictions (where applicable): While our services and operations are primarily U.S.-based, we take into account privacy requirements that may apply if clients, participants, or employees access services from outside the United States (such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union and Canada’s PIPEDA and Quebec’s Law 25).

Changes to the Privacy Notice

This Notice was last updated on January 26, 2026. This Privacy Notice may be updated periodically, and any changes will take effect immediately upon notice. This Notice is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute a contract, create any legal rights, or alter, amend, or supersede any agreement between Greenspring Advisors and its clients.
