Greenspring Wealth Management is pleased to announce that Evan Melcher was nominated for the 2012 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man of the Year for Atlanta. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year (MWOY) campaign is a fundraising competition in communities across the U.S. in which participants vie for the title of Man or Woman of the Year. They raise funds for blood cancer research to honor local children who are blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year. The titles are awarded to the men and women in each community who raise the most funds during the ten-week campaign; the top local fundraisers in the country also win the national titles.
At the campaign’s Grand Finale held at the Loews Atlanta Hotel on June 16th, it was announced that the 14 candidates from Atlanta raised a combined $575,000 in 10 weeks. At this event, Evan was also inducted into the $25K for the Cure Club. All funds raised go to help in the fight against blood cancers, which affects more than one million North Americans. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest non-profit contributor to blood cancer research, funding nearly 320 projects worldwide and supporting the entire research continuum.
