For the Retirement Plan Consulting Team, the Financial Planner will guide retirement plan participants through investment decisions and recommendations, helping them determine the best course of action for their retirement assets, as well as providing financial planning assistance to plan participants and company executives. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for gathering client data, researching creative financial planning solutions, inputting data into financial planning software tools, and preparing financial plans for plan participants. This individual may conduct on-site and over-the-phone education meetings with plan participants using the Greenspring investment methodology and materials.
A Senior Financial Planner would serve as a subject-matter expert for advisors on complex financial planning topics.
This role is critical to setting and maintaining high service standards for the firm, creating positive client experiences, and fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, and additional duties may be assigned.
- Collect, organize, and review data gathered from clients for estate, retirement, tax, education, and insurance planning
- Prioritize, batch, and enter a high volume of data into financial planning software tools with precision and accuracy
- Develop, create, and present group employee education programs on financial wellness and retirement savings
- Provide education and financial planning advice to retirement plan participants. Tailors the conversation to the needs and demographics of the audience.
- Identify and conduct financial planning outreach to separated and active plan participants.
In addition to the above-mentioned responsibilities, the Senior Financial Planner provides advanced-level planning knowledge and expertise to external and internal stakeholders.

Job Requirements
Industry/Business Experience
2+ years in financial services and/or financial planning preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field preferred
- CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and/or Series 65 license preferred; otherwise, continued employment will be contingent on successfully obtaining the Series 65 license within the first 90 days of hire
- Senior Financial Planner candidates: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and/or Series 65 license required.

Requirements/Additional Information
Initial duties for the Financial Planner without their CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and/or Series 65 license credentials will include:
- Tasks as assigned by the Director and Team Lead
- Attend and participate in department and staff meetings
The Financial Planner may use work time to study for their Series 65 exam when not engaged in other tasks and receive full hourly pay and benefits, at an hourly base rate of $30 per hour, with the expectation of 40 hours per week.
Upon passing their Series 65 exam, the Financial Planner will be converted to an exempt employee and receive a starting base salary range of $65,000-$75,000 annually, with opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus up to 10% of earnings, as well as an additional bonus for business development activities.
The Senior Financial Planner can expect a starting base salary range of $75,000-$100,000 annually, with the opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus up to 10% of earnings, as well as an additional bonus for business development activities.
- This individual will report to the Director of Financial Planning
- After the first 90 days and with the manager’s approval, the Candidate may be eligible to work from home for a specified number of days per month.
- This role may involve some occasional travel
- Ability to work two evenings per week
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a major plus
